Nice Demo :D

Sorry for getting back to you this late, great song BTW, better than most the stuff on NG. Could be a little less repetitive though... Also it sounds like if you spend more time EQ'ing the instruments they would come through a lot clearer, remember each synth needs its own freq range to thrive in. The kick could be louder, and on a side note should always be the loudest part of a song, it carries the song and allows the song to have energy, it is always the most important part to any piece of electronic dance styled music. I love that one synth in the background that comes in at :28, it is crystal clear as ice. Now the one thing missing from this track that would make a banging piece of art is a creative bassline. If you come up with a bassline more defined, less generic and filled with automation this song would destroy its competition. I know I'm guilty of being lazy with bass but it really adds so much emotion to the song if you can make one that is truly genuine. For example listen to Estiva & Temple One - November Lovely (Estiva's Enhanced Sessions Mix), great song with a creative bassline that is still simple. Something like that is what you want to shoot for, not too complex but not too generic. Anyways great song and keep up the good work!

Hey, Retuning the favour here!

Ok so from the start - Very strong kick beat, it has bass that sounds like a one complete drum (as opposed to 3 different parts) and it has a nice punch to it. That percussion sound mixes really well and sounds very Lavkastor style. So good job with the intro drums! Great sounding bass, kind of generic but still good. Personally I would experiment with it more! BOOM here comes a very nice sounding lead but I have to tell you it seemed a little to sudden to me. You could have done a lead in with the cutoff filter to make it sound more natural. As all the elements are coming together here it is sounding great, I'm waiting for the breakdown to hit as I speak... There it is, I was expecting some deep low filtered pads to be here. As good as that bass grinding noise is I would keep it subtle and lead it in slowly while some beautiful pads bring the song through the flow. This sounds great at 3:20 very deep and emotional but once again that bass grinding sound feels like it is drowning out everything, usually for breakdowns its best to keep the emotional parts up front. Alright I'm at 4:00 and it is building up. I love that chord progression going on there. I'm at 5:08 and it sounds like this should be the climax but I honestly don't feel it. It feels like the synths are drowning out way to much of the kick, it's barely hear-able. The kick should always be completely noticeable in the mix at anytime it is playing else there is something wrong. Also you could add some sidechaining in there so you don't have to reduce the volume of anything to much and sidechaining makes your mix sound so much powerful. Something I learned recently was if you want power in your song - sidechain, sidechain, sidechain! For the outro, pretty much what I said for the intro.

Overall 9/10 - Amazing song with a few things that are a little awkward. All the synths sounded amazing and it was all very professional, you could get your name big soon with this amount of talent! It's more trance that we need like this on NG and not cheesy Eurodance. Keep up the good work and thanks for the review. I will send you the full version of my song when I have time to render (I'm sure you know all about that XD).

D-Chain responds:

w00t thnx for the long review XD never expected to get this hella favour back xD
and yes, as always.. i shall take all these hints/tipsys into the next one :)

honestly, i always seem to have a problem during the klimax..
but thatll be fixed in the future, im sure of that!

About the drowning-out, side-chaining is something i realy DON'T like xD
if there's absolutely something i hate into producing, than it would be side-chain.
mostly i try to get of of the side-chain and replace that 'part' by better quality :)

once again, thnx for the power-full review!

Good job with this one, nice to see you working on other styles. I don't know how you do it but you create a perfect atmosphere with your reverb and delay in all of your songs. Keep going, soon you will be the best!

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Layers.

Wow, it sounds so professional

The only thing I would change would be the beeping sound at 0:14 and make it quieter. I would like to hear more from you in the future, its hard to find stuff like this on Newgrounds.

Oknavi responds:

I will probably go back and do some track mastering on this one day, I agree that I need to tone the melody down at 0:14.

Thanks for your kind words!!

Couldn't stop myself from reviewing this!

It's so perfect! I'm tired right now so I'm not going to go crazy long review but I would suggest trying to get this in a game (it would work perfectly in an RPG or MMO). It really has that video game feel to it. Well, I should stop myself now, great song 10/10 5/5!

drumwar responds:

Well yes it should be in a game, thats what I used to write when i was in highschool...but sadly none of the games got off the ground. keep listening!

Good job on everything except one thing.

The main lead is just a midi which means you used no skill for the base of the song. The synths sound good and everything else but jacking a midi and calling it your own is not how music should be made, it should be about using your own emotion not someone else's. Anyways other than that it is mastered well everything is clear and all. Could use some more variation and stuff but w/e. Hope to see more (original) stuff from you in the future.

syphonmax responds:

Don't worry man there will be =]

I came

I wrote serious reviews on your 2 other versions of this song so don't expect to get a third serious one. Ur hawt.

Jebbal responds:

You son of a bitch. You request this review be erased and rewrite it. Longer and more serious.

lol Thanks for the review!

This first buildup is good so far, but I don't like that harsh 3xosc time sounding synth. The buildup is good, lots of automation. The melody is good but I feel like it's missing something it doesn't sound fat enough, you can probably fix this by turning up the thing that says voices or something like that on your vst. The second build up is good but it could use a more epic sounding synth during it to rise tension. The kick sounds a little bit plain from what I can tell maybe layer some together? I don't have much more time but I think i gave you a lot of criticism that will help you. Great song man you have potential.

DjMontana responds:

HEy japetheape...

Well yeah i like some off those deep drum sounds but mabey this one
is not well added in the mix.
Some layers worked really well i think... but it`s a matter of taste wich makes the track complete.
But i will take ur advice in a good way and try to do better next time..

Hawt :P

I love that clean feeling of it, and the melody is amazing. One suggestion I have is to turn down the first FX. The piano that comes in later on... it's... well... breathtaking :O. Pretty much that whole buildup is perfect, the way you slowly brought in the intruments, and in the right order too. But the drum buildup at the end of the buildup could have used a LP to make t sound better. One last piece of constructive critism that I have for you is that in the last melody you should have made it more powerful by layering the synths. Ultimately you did a great job with this song man. If you wouldn't mind could you stop by and give me a review on my newest song?

heartless1298 responds:

Thanks for the advice and the praise! And sure, I'll be sure to check out your newest.

Yay

Such an amazing song from the intro to the well... outro. Good luck with the mac 8 :D. I had fun helping you with this on msn and it turned out execptional from what I hear. YAY THE PHASED ARP :P. Keep up the good work and stay in touch man. Like I said before though, the glitch at the end is amazing.

EchozAurora responds:

W00t W00t! Thanks for the help going through it! =D
